Registration is closed. That simply means no student can register for CM because the deadline has passed. A student can choose to drop out after the deadline. However, they are not eligible for any refund. E-mail the names and identification numbers to Nancy Hsu, Student Scheduling Chair of students that wish to cancel their registration.

Entering evaluation information online is the next step. This must be completed between January 2 and 20. Go to www.mtac.org Click on Certificate of Merit. Click on MTAC Login. Enter username and password. Go to CM Students, and click on Student List. At the end of each student entered, click on the arrow point to the right of Edit Reg. Info. A menu will pull down. Click on Edit Eval. Info. Enter the student’s repertoire. Click on Branch Honors and or Convention Recitals if apply. Enter Syllabus Piece. Scroll down to Special Requests if applicable. For additional help, go to the CM Information Menu and select Forms and Documents. Click on 2012 Online Evaluation Information Form Instructions. This form has not been posted yet, but should be after January 1. It includes instructions on how to enter repertoire, Branch Honors, Convention Recitals, Carpooling, Sibling and Ensemble information. A brief description of the four different convention recitals can also be found on the Branch website.

Special requests for a specific day for piano evaluations can be made if the student has a conflict in dates or if they are in a carpool. Read the instructions online carefully. Below are listed the dates. The computer recognizes them only as Day 1 or Day 2. Be sure to enter the “day” that the student is available. You may also request AM or PM. Special requests are granted “by the computer” on a first come first served basis. To ensure your request, e-mail the student’s name and date/time requested along with the reason to Nancy Hsu at nancyhsu1@netzero.com

The Teacher Work Contract Forms that were sent in with CM registration will be used by the Chairs to schedule teacher work assignments. Molly Nguyen will assign piano teachers their jobs, Margie Chan and Joanne Ausmus Baker will assign strings teachers, and Sarah Vay Kerns and Stephanie Getz will be scheduling the woodwind teachers. E-mail the Chair if a change needs to be made.

A Student Volunteer-Teacher Substitute Form is posted on the Branch website under Forms and Documents. This form can be used to submit names of students who are interested in earning service hours by working at one of the venues. Only high school students are eligible. This form may also be used for Teacher Substitutes. Substitutes are only allowed if they are a member of MTAC. If a teacher cannot fulfill the required work hours, another teacher can work in their place. It is the teacher’s responsibility to find a qualified substitute.

Teacher Noninvolvement Fees must be mailed to the CM Chair, Judi Moore. This includes all disciplines, piano, strings, voice, and woodwinds. Checks may be sent at any time. However, keep in mind that all CM evaluations and exams will be withheld until the check has been received.
